Off to Chagrin Falls and Pittsburgh

Last Wednesday Cole, Dusk and I headed out of Columbia in route to Chagrin Falls for a day and Pittsburgh for  four days! We were both really excited because it was our first road trip to see family by ourselves. So the plan for the trip was to leave as soon as Cole got off work Wednesday night, drive as far as we could that night, stop and stay at a cheap hotel along the way and then be in Chagrin Falls by 9am the next morning to spend the day with my sister and her two daughters. Everything went as planned except the cheap hotel room...Cole and I had driven around 7 of the 10 hours and we were both pretty exhausted so we decided to stop near Charleston, WV and get some sleep, well apparently something must have been going on that day cause every hotel in the area was slammed! We ended up driving another hour, Cole made several calls to hotels near the interstate and we thankfully found one hotel that still had one room and only one room left, and to top it off it was a suite. At that point we were so tired we didn't care that it was way more than we wanted to spend and that there was an extra cost added because of Dusk. We finally pulled into the hotel parking lot and checked in and went to our massive room. We didn't get into the room until 2am crashed and we left three hours later.
Dusk liked the tub in our room

On the bright side the sunrise was
beautiful driving through the mountains

A neat bridge we drove through on the way to Chagrin

My little Dusk literally slept the whole time we drove, he did so good on
his first big road trip!
We got to Chagrin Falls on time too, and spent the day with my sister and my sweet little nieces. Since they live so far away we don't get to see them very often so it was nice to get to spend a whole day with just them. We had breakfast at a cute little restaurant, and then walked around the town and admired the houses and architecture. We went and played at the local playground with the girls and had lunch at another local restaurant.
